Paintings by Pierre Maxo
Pierre Maxo is a young painter (born circa 1969) who for many years was a disciple of the famous artist Gabriel Alix, who died in 1998. Alix was an acknowledged, premier "first generation" Haitian primitive painter.
Maxo paints in much the same style as Alix but exhibits perhaps a bit more sophistication in his compositions and colors. During just the last several years, Maxo's work has come to be widely appreciated and collected.
