Kamy Deljou was born in Shiraz in October, 1957. He began his training at the Metier Guild and apprenticed at the Dariush Academy of Shiraz. He earned his mastership at Pahlavy University, famed for its modern art disciplines and its demanding standards of craft in a wide range of media: acrylics, pastels, oil, inlay, print making, and serigraphs. He arrived in the United States in 1979 and established his atelier at "Graphique Du Jour Studios," working with some of the most brilliant names in contemporary art. With artists like Lee White, Denis Assayac, and Ken Weaver, he developed innovative and original techniques combining ink, acrylic, and oil creating bold, elegant shapes and colors, rich in texture and patterns. In the process, Kamy has patented several printing techniques. Over the past decade he has exhibited his art throughout the U.S. and around the world.
I paint with openness, freedom, expressiveness - of inner feelings, thoughts, sensibilities - colors, form, design - with quiet impact, strong sensitivity - so that your inner feelings, thoughts, sensibilities will reflect the same heightened sensations."
