Paintings by Jean Baptiste Jean

J. B. Jean was born in Cap Haitien on April 21, 1953. He began to paint with Philome Obin in 1970, and joined the Centre d'Art in Port-au-Prince the following year. His works have attracted the attention of serious collectors. His paintings have been exhibited in France and Latin America, and were part of a permanent exhibition at the Haitian Institute in Washington, D.C. They have also been illustrated in various books, including Nadal/Bloncourt "La Peinture Haitien" and in exhibition catalogues.
