Paintings by Gregory McGaha

Neal 'Gregory' McGaha was born in June, 1967 in Royston, Georgia - the home of baseball great Ty Cobb. In an effort to pursue a dual career - baseball and art - Gregory attended South Georgia College where he played baseball and studied art. When it became apparent that art would play the dominant role in his life, he transferred to Georgia Southern University. In addition, he studied at the Art Institute of Atlanta, where he graduated in 1991 with top honors.

Gregory enjoys painting a variety of subject matter from sports scenes to still lives and landscapes. Inspiration for his landscapes comes from his travels through the southern countryside, where he often takes his easel, setting up in a field to catch the play of light on a hill or a rolling meadow.

"I am your typical artist. I love to paint, capture and create, enjoying the smell of the paint, the feel of the canvas, and the sounds of the studio. I enjoy painting images where color, composition, and mood all come together to elevate the viewer's awareness."

Gregory's work is in many private and corporate collections around the world, including Aliya - Atlanta, Georgia, MBNA Bank - Atlanta, Georgia, ABC Studios - Orlando, Florida, and have been on display at ArtExpos New York and Las Vegas.
