Paintings by Joel Gauthier
Joel Gauthier was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, in June 1955. A relatively new painter, his works have already attracted the attention of serious collectors. His jungle scenes have become a genre of their own, and are widely illustrated in publications about Haitian art.
Gauthier's paintings are part of a permanent exhibition at the Haitian Institute in Washington, D.C., and more recently were on exhibit at the Organization of American States, also in Washington.
