While we have our own large inventory of Haitian, Amazonian, folk and contemporary art, we also can exhibit art on a consignment basis. We choose our artworks carefully and try to make sure they fit into our overall presentation. So please understand that we receive as many as 100 inquiries per week from artists, but can handle perhaps only one or two of these in terms of artist promotion and exhibition. We represent over sixty artists directly, and exhibit the work of at least one hundred others. While we are interested in selectively expanding our representation and exhibits, we need specific information from you in order to give your work adequate consideration for the gallery.
We get many inquiries about exhibiting in our gallery, and some of them are quite clear about style, medium, price range, subject matter, exhibition history, etc. Unfortunately many of them are not. So it is often very difficult for us to have any opinion as to whether the art would fit into the gallery as it is currently organized.
The only way we can judge the suitability of new art is to be able to review photographs or film (transparencies of any size), along with descriptions of the works in terms of medium, size, and retail price range. Please include artist information, including relevant biographical information and exhibition history.
These materials may be mailed to:
The Electric Gallery 557 Osprey Point Road Crownsville, MD 21032 Attention: New Artists
Please do not send us image files electronically. However, please do include an email address if possible so that we can get back to you in an efficient manner. Thanks again for your interest in the gallery; we look forward to seeing examples of your work.
